Last night, Walnut Hills Eagles's grabbed their 3rd league victory over Glen Este to improve to 7-1-2 (3-0). After a rather poor showing this past Saturday, the boys started very fast when Daniel Bundschuh opening the scoring in the 2nd minute. The Eagles would keep control of the ball in a passing display that hasn't been seen much this season. Senior Captain Adam Brown added a hat trick in the game with several powerful shots in close proximity. The defense also did a great job in starting the attack as senior captain Harrison Hildebrandt found several great passes to the forwards feet. In their first starts of the season, sophomores Brandon Rafistanger and Adam Cooper showed some promise of what is to come in the future by putting in solid performances. The Eagles travel to play red hot Sycamore this weekend. Every time Walnut matches up with the Aves, it proves to be a very intense and hard fought match. Playing on their smaller grass field should increase the intensity as the ball will be hard to maintain possession of. The good news is that sophomore goalkeeper, Logan Wiedmann, and senior captain , Tre Shockley, are set to make a return from injuries on Saturday. Game time is at 12pm. Also, last night JV Eagles improved to 9-0-1 (3-0) with convincing romp. The goals started early and ened late as the boys controlled every aspect of the game. Saturday's JV match up should provide a real test as Walnut's JV hasn't beaten Sycamore's JV in 4 years. Finally, Don't Forget about Soctoberfest on Saturday 7pm at the Ayers Residence. Last year was a great time and we raised a good amount of money. Hope to see you there. |
