Daniel Bundschuh Goal vs Oak Hills

The Eagles defeated Oak Hills last night 1-0.  While the score appears close, the game was mostly controlled by Walnut.  Walnut had several opportunities in the first half, but couldn't convert.   The game was knotted up until after half when defender Harrison Hildebrandt moved up to the wing to create through pass for Daniel Bundschuh.  The sophomore cooly slotted his breakaway past the keeper for the winner.  Right after the goal, Walnut had a flurry of chances that where either wide or saved.  Oak Hills brought some intensity for the last 10 minutes with some long throws that lead to the ball bouncing around the Walnut 18.  Both Keepers (Weidmann and Cohen) and the defense earned a good shut out as they cleared their lines and made the saves they needed to.

JV Eagles won their opening match earlier vs Oak Hills as well with a 4-1 win.  Sam Warren scored a pair of goals off Jes Carr's throws.  Kyle Gioli and Nick Penn added the other goals.  The only blemish on the game was a freak broken arm to Bjorn Burrell in the 2nd half.   We are still awaiting news on his injury.

Walnut Faces Moeller on Thursday for their home opener at 6pm and 8pm.   Any fan who wears a walnut tee-shirt will be entered into a giftcard drawing to be given away at halftime.  Come out, sit right next to action, and make some noise!
