This past Tuesday, the Eagles defeated Milford 4-1. The game started with Walnut putting lots of pressure on Milford, but not grabbing any of its chances. It wasn't till the last 5 minutes if the half that the Eagles exploded on to the tally sheet with 3 goals. Senior Tre Shockley, who showed he' s back in form after missing 6 weeks to injury, led the way for Walnut with 2 assists and the first goal of the night. Sophomore Daniel Bundschuh would score the other two goals in the half. After the half, Milford stepped up their game. For the first 20 ,minutes of the 2nd half Walnut struggled to match their intensity. In flurry of five minutes 2 Walnut defenders were sent to the blood pin to get treated for lacerations. This left Walnut in a bit of confusion in the back which resulted in Milford grabbing a goal. Soon after this senior Chaz Morgan, entered back into the game releasing Captain Adam Brown to push forward. Brown instantly seized the opportunity of being unmarked and paused Walnut's advantage back to 3. From there it was a matter of killing the game off. The Eagles improved to 9-2-2 and 5-0 in the ECC with only Turpin to play in the league. Saturday is Senior day vs state ranked #9 Beavercreek 2:30 at WHHS. The Eagles look to get their first points vs the annual powerhouse. Come out and support your 15 Seniors! The Jv Eagles defeated Milford Jv 1-0 on a goal from freshman Malcolm Smitherman.
